There’s no better marketing tool than name recognition. Name recognition is how major corporations continue to push small business out of various markets. They design a new product, put there company logo above the product name and it sells because people trust their other products.

It’s easiest and most effective to run a small business staying involved in a single niche… but obviously it isn’t the most profitable and keeps you at a certain level, the small business level. Since different niches overlap in certain ways the only way to accomplish effectively marketing in different niches is too develop name recognition. With a percentage of a specific niche already aware of your ability to deliver a product you have your foot in the door with them.

If successful with two different niches for a solid year or so your business now has potential limbs into many various niches with your name already creeping into them. The second niche is the hardest to overcome, and after growth is dependant on how organized your systems for expansion are.

The first step in branding yourself is too begin marketing yourself not your products. If you notice what multibillion dollar corporations such as Mc Donald’s, Coca Cola, or Lexus… they market their names first and their products second, many commercials of major corporations wont even advertise a product, there are millions of products, this is not what separates you from the competition. Begin marketing yourself or your business and you begin the road to more abundant success.

But of course, let’s not get ahead of ourselves here. If you begin marketing yourself and your product is garbage… your going to develop negative name recognition. You want to market your products until you are certain your products can give you a good name and then market yourself.

Twitter is one of the largest and most visited social media websites on the net and can be used as a marketing tool. I am generating 20 leads a day for free using twitter. How? Let me explain.

First you must put up a picture of yourself smiling and looking the best you can and not a picture of something or someone else. Your biography should tell a bit about yourself and what you like doing. Show people you are a fun and happy person so they will want to work with you. Now is where you really want to start paying attention.

Second you want to follow 150-200 people a day that are in your industry. You can follow people in your industry by finding someone that is putting out content about what you have to offer or someone in the same industry as you and follow their followers. Follow the first 15-20 pages of one person and then change it up. This will build your following daily and allow you to market to more people everyday. Now the tweeting comes.

Third is you want to send out 15 tweets per day. These tweets should not be all ads. Some should be quotes, links to articles, videos, and only 3 ads per day. This is the best and highest converting way to tweet. You can use a program which is free to do tweets for you. All you do is set them up in the morning and then it will send a tweet every hour. The program is called SocialOomph.com. Next part is important to.

Fourth part is you want to delete the people who did not follow you back the next day so you can continue to follow more people when you reach the ten percent margin and you cannot follow anymore. To break this you must delete some of your followings in order for you to follow new ones. You can use a program called huitter.com. This program is free as well and will unfollow everyone who did not follow you back so you can continue to follow more people. Shortening links is next.

Fifth is you want to shorten any links you send out. It can be a link to an article you wrote or a video or just your site. To make the link shorter so that you can have more room to write more in your tweets use bit.ly. You just put the link in and it will shorten it for you so you will have more space to put out more content in your tweets. Last element is very effective and will help you make some sales.

Sixth is answering direct messages. You want to answer 10 direct messages per day. Only answer people who look like they are qualified for what you have to offer and seem like people you want to work with. Do NOT try to sell them but build a relation with them and eventually they will ask what do you do? Then you tell them. So this entire process of using twitter for marketing has been providing me about 20-25 leads per day and even a few sales. But there is more to marketing.

You need the correct affiliate link if you want to be credited with the sales from your referral.

Having everything you need you will set up a website or blog built around savings, deals and coupons. You can even use a Blogger blog and build a quick page describing the product and offer a link for savings with most major sites your link will always show the current most updated or best price for the product they are offering.

People who are ready to buy will often search for deals and coupons so by building these you get your affiliate income in front of that traffic and profit from buyers.

Residual income is income everyone dreams about – recurring income that continues to be paid to you long after your efforts have ended.

It is much different that employment income, where you are paid for a unit of effort. Residual income is different in that it can pay much more than the value of the initial effort, and free up your time so that you can begin to work on additional sources of residual income. That’s what is called multiple streams of income.

Residual income can be created in many different ways.

Here are the most popular methods:

Create a product, and sell it over and over, ideally by using an automated system.

Affiliate program. Usually, for this to be considered residual income, the affiliate program should be selling something that renews, like a subscription or consumable product (so that a single customer can produce an ongoing stream of income for you). Affiliate programs are also called associate programs, or agent agreements.

Create copyright material. This is usually music or writing, and you get residual income in the form of commissions for every unit that is sold.

Compensation models. Some methods of employment do not include an hourly wage. The employer in this case usually works out an arrangement where a share of the profits will be paid to you in exchange for the work you do. This is common in commercial websites where a revenue stream is created – the web developer may be paid a percentage of ongoing revenues rather than paid up front.

Revenue creating assets. Some assets like real estate can produce residual income, by creating situations where rental income is produced. Residual income in real estate can also come from the assignment of property rights, like when oil is discovered and you assign drilling rights to a company in exchange for a percentage of revenues.

Network marketing. Companies that pay you to sell products and recruit others to sell are called network marketing or multi-level marketing companies. In network marketing, the effort is in building a group of others that also sell the product (called a downline), and then receiving residual income based on the sales of everyone in your downline. It is one of the more popular ways to earn residual income, but also one of the riskiest methods, due to problems like poor business plans, non-compliance, and management corruption.

Investments can also be considered residual income when those investments pay recurring income, like an income fund.

Residual income can be a gold mine for you, if you know how to secure a consistent ongoing income stream. While some methods require skills or creativity, other sources of residual income require only knowledge of the opportunity, and by taking advantage of those opportunities, residual income can be created.

Once a residual income source begins to pay, it can become extremely rewarding. Many people who receive residual income begin to actively seek out other methods to receive additional residual income.
