Direct Sales

Direct Selling15 Direct Sales
The direct sales industry has got to be one of the leading industries that most entrepreneurs are choosing to get involved with for the following reasons:

1. Lower Start Up
2. Independent Hours
3. Boss Free
4. High Commissions
5. Passive Income
6. Time Freedom

Lower Start Up:

Most direct sales businesses are much cheaper to start compared to franchise models that require $250,000 plus capital. However some direct selling compensation models have the potential to make up to 10 times the profit than most franchises.

Independent Hours:

Independent direct selling distributors work independent from the company & are in position to set their own hours.

Boss Free:

People who have a hard time working for other people tend to do very well in this industry. They do however have to be able to function well without constant supervision & this takes a lot of self discipline to accomplish this.

High Commissions:

This is one of the main reasons why most entrepreneurs are choosing to get involved with the direct sales model. The direct selling companies save a lot of money by eliminating the retailers so they can afford to inflate the compensation plan highly in favour of the distributors who after all are doing most of the work. In this industry you are paid for your efforts instead of your time. The more you put into your business the more you will be rewarded.

Passive Income:

Most direct selling companies will reward distributors who are good team players or leaders with an infinity bonus. This is basically an extra income stream that you are able to receive each month without your constant extra effort. Passive income is what most wealthy people have used as leverage that made them wealthy.

Time Freedom:

In direct selling you can use the power of leverage (team efforts) to leverage your time. The result is more income in less time. When someone gets paid by the hour there is a cap on how much money that they can make. When you are paid for your efforts you have the potential to make a lot more.

Know the 5 Priorities in Spotting Great Direct Sales Opportunities

Direct Selling22 Know the 5 Priorities in Spotting Great Direct Sales Opportunities
If you have heard of direct sales businesses, you are probably one of those people who have the drive to earn more and make the most of your time. It is true that direct selling has made many people rich. However, they do not do this overnight. It takes some time and tons of effort before you can call yourself stable in the market.

If you are really interested in entering the world of direct selling, you probably would want to know where you could find the opportunity to get into this type of business. If you were to patiently look for the opportunities through the internet, you are sure to find millions of opportunities. The question is on how you could narrow your search and come up with a short list of the best opportunities around. If you do not do this, you are surely to be overwhelmed with the massive information you could get.

How do you go about narrowing your search for the opportunity that would best fit your location, schedule, interest, lifestyle and budget? Based on this question, you could begin your search. The immense volume of products and services out there that seems overwhelming at first would turn out to be easier than you think. Just keep an active list of the first ones you see. As your list gets longer, narrow your search again within your list based on what you prioritize the most.

Here are simple tips that can immensely help you in your search to make your life better by earning more through direct selling.

1. Location. Since direct selling companies are everywhere, it would be good to narrow your hunt to companies that are located within your area. You can now make verification of the credibility and stability of the company easier because you can physically go to the company and pose your questions to company staff. You may also have the chance to interview friends and relatives who have already used the products and services that they offer.

2. Schedule. Check out the process of direct selling. Have these questions in mind. Would the selling process take too much of your time? Will it allow you flexible hours where you could work via the internet perhaps, even at night or in the wee hours of the morning when your concentration is at its peak? Would a few hours a day of working be good enough to give you a stable source of income?

3. Interest. The opportunities that face you should be of interest to you. It is always good to start with selling something that you already know about. This way, doing sales talk is easier because you are convinced of the quality of what you are selling.

4. Lifestyle. Consider you lifestyle in choosing the kind of direct selling business you enter. If you are more of a traveler, you may want to get into an online direct selling business that you can do in any part of the world with just your laptop to assist you. Moms who would opt to work from home would have to consider their little kids in the decision. Would the business entail intense concentration so that noise or distraction at any time would result in fruitless efforts?

5. Budget. Just like in any other kind of business, it is necessary to put in some money into direct selling. Starter up kits would cost some dollars and you would have to be ready to pay for it. But do not worry because most of the time, little investment is needed to start a small business. But its potential of being lucrative in the future can still be great. In all actuality, it is better to start small in the business anyway to ensure that you get to experience every step of the process.

Looking for direct sales opportunities can be daunting because of the overwhelming presence of so many. Do not despair because if you would just keep your priorities in mind, you would not be bogged down by all the things that you read. Keep a list and eliminate until you get to the best. Just have patience to do this and you are on your way.

Direct Sales Marketing – Using Articles to Promote your Direct Sales Business

Direct Selling13 Direct Sales Marketing Using Articles to Promote your Direct Sales Business
As a fan of direct sales marketing for 20 years, I’m always
looking for new ways to promote my business. After several
months of studying the art of marketing businesses by using
informative articles I’ve been really impressed with the
tremendous information that’s out there. By writing a
content rich, helpful and informative article you can set
yourself apart as an expert in your field and generate
traffic to you and your business.

Most of my study has been in the field of Internet
marketing, but as the wheels of my mind have been turning
and with the experience I’ve had with Direct Sales, I want
to encourage you, Direct Selling Mom, to explore this as a
way to expand your business… and provide a new outlet of
fun for yourself too!

Why in the world do you want to spend time writing
articles? If you’re like me, you’re business life is
already too consuming and you need to spend less time on
your direct sales business, not more!

First, it’s FUN! Here’s your chance to let your creative
juices flow! You know how much you love your products.
And at your parties, you love talking about them to the
party guests. But now, you have a chance to take it
another level. Do you sell scrapbooking products? Share
your heart about the importance of creating a legacy of
memories for your progeny. Passionate about candles?
Write an article about the warmth of hospitality in your
home that can be created by simply adding some beautiful
candles to your decor. Think beyond the specific products
in your line and create from your heart! You’ll see… it’
will stretch your mind and you’ll love every minute of it!

Second, it’s profitable. As you send out valuable content
either online to article directories or offline to your
local publications, you’re establishing yourself as an
expert in your direct sales field. Because each article
has a resource box, an author section with your information
- name, email, website, email and/or phone, the people who
read your article, will know who to contact… YOU!

Third, it sets you apart. Direct Sales is a competitive
business and most likely if you’re in company that’s more
than a year or two old, you’re not the only representative
around. By writing articles and establishing credibility,
you’re setting yourself apart from other consultants in
your own company and in competing ones as well.

How to start? Here are some quick suggestions:

1. Read some other articles online that fit in with the
theme of your particular direct sales product line.

2. Pick your favorite product from your direct sales
catalog. Take a long look at it and think about WHY this
is your favorite. What can it “do” for your
customers… what’s it’s value.

3. Write down your thoughts about the product in list
form. Look through the list and find some “key
words” that really stand out.

4. Using those key words, start to build a story about the
experience of the product…. not the specific product
itself. This is where you really begin to write an article
rather than a sales pitch.

5. Now just keep writing…tweak, change, set it aside for
a day and come back to it. Don’t be discouraged if it
doesn’t come to you right away, especially if you’re not a
writer by nature.

6. Take a risk and have a good friend read and critique your thoughts. Be open to
her ideas and rewrite again.

When you think you and your article are ready, it’s time to
submit it to your local paper or to online article
directories. Just do an Internet search for “article
directories” as a good starting point.

So much information is available online for maximizing this
avenue of marketing. Take advantage of it … and watch your
direct sales business grow!

A Comparison of MLM Vs A Direct Selling Model in a Home-Based Business

Direct Selling21 A Comparison of MLM Vs A Direct Selling Model in a Home Based Business
Multi-Level Marketing or MLM companies usually make business ownership available to almost anyone willing to invest a small amount of money to get started, regardless of ones qualifications. MLM companies typically sell products, (vitamins, health supplements, household products, etc.) to family and friends and also look to “sponsor” others to duplicate their efforts of sales and recruitment in their business.

With MLM companies, many times the direct sales of product is minimal, as well as ones profit, because not only are you selling a limited amount of product, but also because your commissions are usually very small…$5-$50 per commission. As you can see, to really make any serious money and be profitable, one would need to sell an awful lot of small priced products, and/or sponsor many, many individuals to buy and sell these products to others to increase your sales volume.

Most people are not sales people and dislike selling, therefore do not sell enough product to make any serious income or profit. In addition, industry statistics show that 95% of people starting with and MLM company quit within their first 3 months. This makes it extremely difficult to maintain a long-lasting business model that will show a profit!

In any real business venture, things that would usually qualify one to be a business owner would be: investment capital, previous business experience, financial stability, and business acumen, in order to have a chance at success.

The MLM business model needs to be changed to have a real shot at success. What if you had a Direct Sales Model that sold higher ticket products that produced higher commissions? What if you made people put “more skin in the game” and made them pay more to get started to “weed” out the tire kickers that will probably quit anyway? What if this business model was treated like a real business, and not just something to do on the side?

Do you think this would attract and demand a higher caliber and more serious individual for your business?
Do you think getting large upfront commissions of $1K, 5K or more per sale would help you to achieve financial success and profitability in your business? With this model, you don’t need to “sponsor” hundreds of “followers” in order to make money. It just makes more sense to work with fewer qualified people to duplicate your efforts while still earning substantial income because of the top tier commissions in this business model.

I hope this comparison review helps you in your decision as to which Business Model would work best for you.
